The Student Makeup Run | Summer

Just wing it. Life, eyeliner, everything.

Your summer makeup bag.

I loooove makeup, but as a poor student I’m always looking for the best Boots bargains. So, here are my drugstore summer essentials for your face, and where you can find them for the best price.

BB Cream – La Roche-Posay Hydreane BB Cream

Great for a ‘no-makeup’ day, SPF, light coverage and gives you a very healthy glowy look. (under £10)

Foundation – Bourjois City Radiance Foundation

I have used Bourjois for about 6 years, and it has never failed to impress. This new(ish?) foundation is perfect, it gives a nice glow and even complexion without making you look oily. It can build to a heavy coverage, and has SPF15 in too.

Alternatively, for a more medium coverage the Healthy Mix Serum is amazing – although I do find it can melt off your face after a while, so take a powder with you. (under £10)

Concealer – Rimmel Wake Me Up

Brightening and good coverage, never creases as it’s not too thick – it’s a summer winner as it won’t melt off your face. (under £5)

Powder – Rimmel Stay Matte pressed powder

I have stuck with this powder through thick or thin.. and I mean that literally; it can be a good touch-up, but also saves your face on it’s worst oily days without ever looking cakey. (under £5) mmm.. cake.

Mascara – L’Oreal Volume Million Lashes Feline Mascara, Black

This mascara will stay on your lashes through anything you happen to be crying about that day – and it’s not even waterproof. It creates a full, curved lash and could pass for falsies. Alternatively, the waterproof version is also insanely good! (under £10)

Highlight – Topshop Glow Pot

So creamy and so light, perfect for the day or the night. (I rhymed, yay). (under £10)

Eyebrows – L’Oreal Paris Super Brow Artist

I have tried quite a few eyebrow pencils, and this one has been raved about enough that no more really needs to be said. (under £10)

Lip liner – NYX Professional Makeup Slim Lip Pencil in Peekaboo Neutral

I love the consistency of these, and this is a perfect neutral colour to add a little somethin’-somethin’, as it were. (under £5)

Eyeshadow; by day – Max Factor Excess Shimmer 25 Bronze

These little eyeshadow pots of goodness are so damn useful, just rub all over the eyelid and the slight shimmer creates a lovely summery glow. The perfect lazy person hack. (under £10)

Eyeshadow; by night – MAC Eye Shadow X15, Warm Neutrals Palette

I’m a very warm neutrals kinda gal, so this palette suits me down to the ground, I never go too dark as I don’t think it suits my ‘fair complexion’ (nice way of saying i’m v pale). I cheated – this isn’t drugstore – it’s expensive, but worth it.

I hope this helped with any makeup decisions you have been trying to make, have a wonderful summer’s day!
